About Spinning Wheels Brewing Project
Andrew Rosette spent years in tech before he spent years in beer. The transition was deliberate — brewing school in Chicago and Germany, time at Double Mountain, two years helping launch a craft brewery in Ireland, then back to Hood River as head brewer at Thunder Island over in Cascade Locks. By the time he opened Spinning Wheels in April 2023, he'd been thinking about it for a long time. The name fits: spinning your wheels on an idea before you finally move.
The taproom is in a basement bar & patio below Lake Taco on Oak Street — slightly hidden, easy to love once you find it. The beers are brewed at Zoiglhaus’ facility in Portland and kept focused: West Coast IPAs, pale ales, lagers, a dry stout. Easy drinkers. Balanced and made to be finished. The bar staff run the music on two Technics decks. Vinyl only. No requests. The neon dragon and “Dwayne” the speaker rock out front tells you if we're open.
It's a neighborhood pub that makes its own beer. That's the whole idea.
